“MAKING THE DECISION TO HAVE A CHILD IS MOMENTOUS.  IT IS TO DECIDE FOREVER TO HAVE YOUR HEART GO WALKING AROUND OUTSIDE YOUR BODY”

ELIZABETH STONE

Baby didn’t make a smooth, seamless entry to the world, she arrived on Saturday 30th March 2013 at 01.38 weighing 9lb 2oz, after 13 hours and 38 minutes.  Baby had to be helped out by forceps, as she started to get distressed, but all is well,  with Baby (I’m another story).  Oh and how brave am I posting the ‘just born’ picture (thank god for filters).

Off We Go

Dear Baby,

Today we are going to hospital to get ready to meet you.  On Saturday night (39 weeks) I thought something was going wrong, as I had a small bleed.  Then I convinced myself that you were not moving as much as usual.  So on Tuesday we went to hospital to be monitored.  They hooked you up to a monitor and you were happily bleeping away.  Silly Mummy.  On Wednesday morning, when I got up my waters had broken, so we thought you were on the way.  We went to hospital to be told that nothing had happened and were sent away.  By Thursday I was still convinced, so back we went and finally they agreed.  It has been a stressful week, but hopefully now we will get to meet you soon, as we are off to hospital for you to be induced.  See you soon.

xx

Scared was not the word to describe how I was feeling, more like terrified.  Terrified something would be wrong,  but nothing could prepare me for seeing you for the first time.  All the stress, the drugs, the constant temperature taking, stick peeing craziness that had taken over me for the past 18 months was all absolutely 100% worth it.  I loved you instantly and always will.
