Party Girl – Magic Moments #10

Jaime at Oliver’s Madhouse creates a Linky each week for us all to share our Magic Moments.  These moments can be any moment that feels magical to you, however big or small.

Last weekend Baby went to her first birthday party.  Her friend A was the first out of her little group to turn one and we were thrilled to be invited along.

As a mum of a girl, I love dressing her up in pretty outfits and really look forward to any excuse to pop her in a frock.  It is funny, but when I put a tutu or a fluffy skirted dress on her, she makes a little happy noise!  (coincidence I’m sure).  Anyway we had an outfit that we didn’t use at Christmas, so it was a great opportunity to give it an airing.

We saw friends that we haven’t seen since before Christmas, so it was lovely to catch up.  It was magical watching her experience a birthday party for the first time.  The lights going out for the candles and cake.  Singing happy birthday,  eating party food, playing with balloon animals, hearing party poppers.

I’m sure this will be the first of so many birthday parties that we will go to over the years.  The first of so many party dresses that we will buy.   The first of hundreds of party bags we will take home.  That knowledge made it even more magical.

  1. What a gorgeous little outfit! I miss being able to dress my daughter in dresses like this, she views them as too inconvenient for running around! Sounds like a lovely first birthday party to experience too 🙂 #magicmoments

  2. Aww how adorable! Exciting stuff going to her first birthday party. She looks fabulous in that dress too. Sounds like you all had a great time. Thank you for sharing with #whatsthestory

  3. One of the reasons I was so chuffed to have a girl – the gorgeous dresses! And she still wears them now she is 7 too! She looks beautiful 🙂 Thank you for linking to PoCoLo x
