Weaning Woes vs Teething Trauma

Well weaning is MUCH more stressful than I imagined it would be.  Baby is so interested in everyone else’s food, but not so much with her own… Originally we blended individual veggies and although she ate some initially, she was not very keen and eventually stopped altogether.  So we moved onto ready made organic pouches.  These went down a storm, but again after a few days she seemed to go off these as well.  I must admit there were times when I was so desperate for her to eat, that when she refused, I had a little cry (in the kitchen away from her).  All I was thinking was, am I going to end up with a toddler that won’t eat?..  So where are we up to now? I have had lots of advice from friends and from some lovely people on Twitter, who have said to remember ‘Food is fun’ until 1 year, so I have really been trying to relax.  Last week a friend offered Baby a bread stick and she sat and munched it!  Crazy as she gagged on the smallest lump in the puree previously.   So from this point we have given her three meals a day and have been mixing purees and finger food.  If she is too tired or otherwise not interested, fine, we bin it and forget it.  The one thing she does eat without fail and literally goes crazy for is….

Baby eating yoghurt

She loves yoghurt!  I suppose it could be worse, at least yoghurt is healthy.  So things are progressing and I will just have to not panic, if she is not progressing as quickly as her peers in the eating stakes.  Baby feeding herself

In other news we have the 6th tooth coming through, wow! teething is traumatic.  There have been some very difficult days and I’m sure we will have more, but we just have to make the best of it and keep going, it won’t be forever.  Poor little mite.

Personally for me it has been a very stressful week.  I would love to be able to vent on here and write in order to organise my thoughts, but at this point I should resist.  In summary, I am quite stressed and there are not enough hours in the day to do everything I need to do.  The future in uncertain and I may have to start staying up at nights to free up some baby-free time.

But when you wake up to this in the morning, how can any day be that bad.
