Top Ten Best Baby Buys

For new parents there are so many products out there and if you’re anything like me and Mr Hubby you will end up with lots of stuff you don’t even use.  With no experience it is hard to know what you will need when the little bubba arrives.  But there are many great products on the market, so I thought I would share my top 5 favourite baby buys.

1.  Baby Star Wraps from Tuppence and Crumble

baby star wrapI LOVE these wraps.  When Baby was born it was still quite chilly.  We had various snow suits, but it seemed difficult and time consuming the keep getting her in and out of them, when we were in and out of the birth centre etc.  I came across these wraps by searching the internet and ordered one immediately.  They were £19.95, I ordered ours from Amazon.  I can honestly say that these wraps are my favourite product we have bought so far.  They are made from a super soft fleece and the baby easily fits in, remains lovely and snug and can quickly and easily be taken out again.  Also the front can be opened up, if for example, you are shopping and go into a warm shop.  The sizes are 0-6 and 6-12,  I am definitely going to buy Baby a larger one, as her 0-6 is getting a bit snug.

2. Bumblefrills Frilly Pants

Bumblefrills

I was a little disappointed with the standard high street frilly pants for little girls, as they didn’t seem special or fun enough.  Then a friend introduced me to Bumblefrills and they were exactly what I was looking for.

One of the additional positives to these great quality pants is that they fit 6-24 months, so you will definitely get a lot of wear out of them.  Priced at £8.50 they are a great quality product.

We have them in Hot Pink and were recently grateful to be sent the Aqua pair to review.  Here is a more detailed review

3. KOKO Food Pouch Spoons

kobo pouch spoonsI came across these spoons when they were on offer in Tesco.  I just chucked them in the basket and didn’t think much more about them, until recently.  We have started to wean Baby and she was having a hard time, not really enjoying it and many of the spoons seemed to be the wrong shape.

I used a branded pouch one morning and remembering the spoon, attached it.  The base of the spoon attaches to the neck of the pouch and the food squeezes directly into the spoon.

Amazing!, Baby confidently ate mouthfuls of the pouch and it was so easy, less washing up, much greater ease, amazingly convenient – what’s not to love!

.4. Grobags

Grobag

Putting Baby to sleep in Grobags (or any sleeping bags really) was a revelation.  We used to struggle with blankets, she would kick them off and I was constantly worried she would suffocate or be cold.  Then we switched to sleeping bags and it is so much easier.  Also now Baby has decided to roll over when she is asleep, she is much safer and warmer.  It also makes it easier to not disturb her when putting her down (I know bad parents putting her down asleep).  Such a great idea and for us an invaluable product. We got this one cheap from Ebay – worth a look!

5. Baby Bjorn Carrier

Baby Bjorn CarrierThis was the second carrier we bought.  Initially we bought one that was more of a sling and it didn’t seem at all safe to us newbie parents, so it never got used.  Then we made a larger purchase and bought a Baby Bjorn Carrier – it was quite expensive at almost £90, but right from the start we were so much more confident about using it.  It is a very solid construction and there is no way you can get it wrong and let your baby plummet to the floor!  In the early days I used it so I could actually get off the couch when Baby fell asleep on me and Baby finds it so comfortable that she has been known to fall asleep in it-  evidence 🙂

6. Sweet Lily Sparkles Feeding Bracelet

feeding bracelet.

I recently found these bracelets via Twitter and ordered one immediately.  There was a sale on and so it cost £5 including postage (usually £6 plus P&P).  They can be made in various colours and with various charms.

I didn’t think that baby brain would happen to me, but it has and most days I can’t remember when Baby was last fed.  Then I came across the perfect solution, the Feeding bracelet.  There is a charm on a clip and this can be moved round and clipped on between the beads to indicate the feeding time (in 15 min intervals).  This is a great product and is really inexpensive, but looks lovely.

7. Sugarjack Isabelle Changing Bag

Sugarjack bagI love this changing bag.  I was lucky enough to buy mine (with my birthday money) when they had a sale on.  The normal price is £249, but mine was half price.  Made from patent leather with two zipped flaps and a large front pocket plus a back pocket. So there are lots of places to stash things within easy reach.  Inside there is an organiser which is poppered round the bag, so when your littlies grow, you can take this bit out and use it as a normal bag, perfect!.  There is also a waterproof bag – ideal for accidents! and another bags on a leather strap inside.  It also comes with a insulated bottle holder and a changing mat.

I really like bags and find some of the changing bags on the market a bit frumpy.  When you have just had a baby, you feel less than glamorous and this bag gave me a much needed touch of glamour.

8. RonniBobs – Huggalugs Leghuggers

leghuggersBaby was recently given a pair of Huggalugs Leghuggers to review – See our review here

These are a great product.  They are sized at 0-6 months or 6 months to 8 years!  Amazing, they just stretch as the child grows.  They can be used on legs or arms and can easily be whipped on or off as the weather changes.  Ideal for potty training, crawling or just keeping them snuggly!  There is also a ruffles version.  Costing £5.99 they are a must buy for me.

9. Lamaze Sir Prance-A-Lot

sir prance-a-lotThis has to be Baby’s favourite toy and he goes everywhere with her.  There is lots to chew on and suck (Baby’s current favourite activities) and lots of different textures and jingle and crinkle sounds keep her entertained.

Lamaze make great quality toys and are very reasonable at about £10.  Baby also has Freddie the Firefly!

.10. Brother Max Slimline Powder Dispenser

milk dispenserI picked this dispenser up from Jojo for £6.  The funnel attachment on the top makes it easy and mess free to fill up the dispenser and you simply twist the main compartment until it clicks to get the powder in the correct place to dispense.

Having three compartments makes it perfect to take out for the day and the funnel goes into the bottle to ensure less spillage!

The plastic is BpA, Pthalate and PVC free
