Winter Warmers – To Pink, or not to Pink?

Well Winter is not far away,  the mornings are getting more autumnal and I’m sure it won’t be long until we are all wrapping up warm against the elements.

I came to realise that Baby doesn’t own a coat for her next age group, well apart from a white fur Jasper Conran coat (bought in a sale), but that’s hardly practical!  So I probably need to go shopping (Oh what a hardship…).

Now being the mum of a pretty baby girl, I am drawn to pink things (not tacky bubblegum pink, but pink nevertheless) and must admit Baby does wear her fair share.  However, I recently read that Sue Palmer (Author of Toxic Childhood) believes we are damaging our girls and setting them up for a lifetime of failure…BBC article here  simply by dressing them in pink…

I simply don’t believe that this could be true, there are so many factors, nature and nurture that go into moulding our babies into the people they will become.  So I am not about to go on a charity shop run with all Baby’s offending clothes.  In fact, I might go out and buy more, put that in your pipe and smoke it Ms Palmer!

So here is my pick of the best pink winter coats for our beautiful babies

For a lighter weight choice I love this Next Military Fleece for £12-£13 what a bargain.

Next fleece.

This military styled coat is on trend and so reasonable that is should be in all little girls wardrobes.

For a super girlie look how about this S&D Le Chic Coat

This coat is currently on offer for £35.70.  The fabric is quilted and the coat features a detachable faux fur hood.  Fashionable and toastie!

I am a big fan of the Blue Zoo range from Debenhams and this coat is fab.  Lovely and warm with a very cute applique design.

It cheBlue Zoocks in at £17-18, but Debenhams often have great offers on, so you might get lucky.

One of my favourite picks has to be this Pink Fairisle Pattern Padded Jacket

fairisle.

This padded coat from Next scores highly on the warmth stakes and the elasticated cuffs will ensure no drafts.  I think it is versatile, as I can imagine it over a pretty dress and also over jeans and a T-Shirt top.  Costing around £25 it won’t break the bank either.

Anyway must dash, shopping to do! 🙂
